Lucas/Ibuki: This is my all-time OTP; I am not even kidding. Despite the fact that one character is an outright villain with an occasional comic-relief-y twist and the other is a tone-lightening "one of your friends" character, I adore that the two of them... ac-tually have really similar energies, seem to have a lot of tastes in common (pff, they both come off as basically giant Hot Topic kids), are both playful and restless, and the like; and especially considering they both seem to have issues actually getting along/gelling with others (especially Lucas, needless to say), there you have me being an instant sucker for the fact that I could actually see them being happy around and keeping up with each other.
Some ideas I have for them include something, say, in a more Dangan Ronpa-influenced setting or universe where a never-encountered-Eveline Lucas and Ibuki end up meeting through the former having some kind of rivalry with Miu; a more pre-7 Resident Evil kind of setup where Ibuki's passing through town on a tour or vacation only to end up hitting it off with Lucas and having him trying to get her to take him with her as a roadie; a canon blend where DR's Despair replaces RE's bioterrorism epidemic or vice versa (DR2 SPOILERS in these brackets, but making use of the fact that both Lucas and Ibuki have had stints as war criminals in that idea might be an angle); or any kind of whole-cloth AU!
Jake/Zoe: A crossover ship I really like the whole “vibe and aesthetic” of! A guy who was tired of the pressure he was under as a normal dude born into a prestigious, wealthy big-city family; ran away from it all to live independently and simply fending for himself in the wilderness; and wound up picked by bad luck to serve as a fox in an eternal human-on-human foxhunt… and a lady who lived happily for a while with her old-fashioned but quietly-living family in the sticks up until they were turned into monsters and she, likewise, was turned into a lone survivor in her own home. This is actually a case where a "sucked into another world" thing... wouldn't "count" for me, since it's a DBD world mechanic! I wouldn’t mind something that involves, say, Zoe getting drawn into the Entity’s realm as a Survivor at some point, though another thought I had was one of Zoe winding up going on to live a similar lifestyle to Jake after she escapes the estate, the two of them just “happening to meet” that way, or even Jake somehow escaping the Entity’s realm before that happens and the two trying to build a peaceful life that way.
Mettaton/Noodle: HA, THIS ONE IS A PAIRING MY BEST PAL AND I CAME UP WITH TOGETHER WHILE HE WAS ESPECIALLY INTO GORILLAZ WHILE I WAS JUGGLIN' UNDERTALE WITH MY OTHER FANDOMS - and I still feel the potential in it holdin' true! Two musical stars from very odd and quirky worlds - Noodle on the surface level arguably the weirdest of the bunch, but also very competent and taking her craft very seriously... while Mettaton is arguably similar-yet-different, as a consummate performer who's smarter and has more capacity to be mature and thoughtful than he lets on, while also having a more hedonistic and showbiz-y streak than Noodle does... in a way she'd still probably be used to getting to know and deal with in a personal cohort.

So, I read Cast in Deception and immediately fell in love with the idea of Barian/Lirienne, with their wary respect for each other and all of the issues of politics and loyalty and trust involved in such a relationship. Then I started thinking, and realized there are a great many stories I want to see in this universe. I want gen Barian & Lirienne stories: what are their political/social coalitions? Relationships with the Hallionne, or the way the very land (still more the people) of the West March divides its loyalties between them? I want to see more of Tiamaris's and Sanabalis's relationship, either as student-teacher or now navigating the newer tension of young-dragon-with-hoard and older-dragon-without, especially with Sanabalis's new duties/restricted movements after Cast in Wisdom. I want to see Tara and Tiamaris working together to protect and improve the fief. How do any of these pairs balance their personal priorities with larger ones (the survival of the world, the survival of the Barrani/Consort/dragons/Bellusdeo, the struggle against shadow...)? What do their activities look like on a day-to-day level? Basically, anything from the largest to the smallest scale would be awesome! Gen, het, fem/slash all good. No modern or genre-shift AUs, please. Elantra alternate histories or other worldbuilding very welcome.

I'm a sucker for complicated ruler/retainer relations and also for female leaders, so these movies (especially the original) were catnip to me. I love that this presentation of Wu Zetian focuses on her ambition as an emperor (rather than her sexual relationships), and that it lets her be competent and ambivalent. I love that Di has been on both the right and the wrong side of her ambition, and that she understands what she can demand of him and what will go too far, even when that line is very thin. I love that he is smart and manipulative himself but with a very strong ethical code. Any story that involves Wu Zetian and Di Renjie interacting is perfect for me. If you'd prefer to write Di investigating something, where Emperor Wu is felt rather than physically present, that's great, too, as is Wu finding some problem that she needs to throw him at, where his presence is off-screen. I'm looking for a gen focus here, though feel free to incorporate het/(fem)slash background relationships with other people. I'd prefer any AU to keep Wu Zetian in a position of significant power and Di in one of some authority, but within those bounds, genre-shift or AU all you like. ([More] magical realism? Great! In space? Awesome. Another era of Chinese history? Excellent. Wu Zetian took a different path to power? Very cool. I am totally on-board with the anachronisms of the movies, because stories of Magistrate Di have been anachronistic basically since they started being written down, so you have lots of flexibility.)

I love both Tim Drake and Cass Cain. I love that they're both ferociously competent people in their own, specific zones, and confident in that competence but also insecure about areas outside their zones. I love that they're legacy heroes very different from their predecessors and push and pull their role to make space for themselves, then eventually have to let go of it and make new space for themselves within the Batfamily. I love that they can each read the other's silences in different ways, Cass through body language and behavior, Tim putting pieces together. I'll love any story of them interacting, working together, working on separate projects but staying in touch, feeling their way through Batfamily/superheroic dynamics. As for Barbara, give me Barbara Gordon being smart and competent and I am *so there*. I love Barbara as Oracle, behind the scenes and in control (except when she's not), a trustworthy leader and mentor, who's also deceptive and deflective (like many Bats), but I also love her in Washington, DC or Burnside, navigating society in her own face. For Babs/Dinah, I particularly love their early Birds of Prey dynamic, where Dinah recognizes Barbara's issues and chooses to trust her anyway. I adore the way Dinah holds her own code of honor yet is flexible enough to work with and love difficult people: a team player who remains stubbornly herself. For Babs & Ted Kord, I adore the ways they geek out at and egg on each other, how they can flirt and compete and rely on each other, as well as how flabbergasted Ted gets at Barbara's ruthlessness, without ever judging her for it. I love that Ted is also forced to sit out direct battles and fight behind the scenes, and that he works out his own way to do that. Any plots that involve Barbara and Dinah or Barbara and Ted working on a project together (crime-fighting or otherwise! I will happily take them trying to build computer models, or refine security systems, or lobby Congress, or whatever) is marvelous. Anything with them stumbling through how to be supportive lovers or friends is awesome. Clearly, I am more interested in femslash than het here, but I'm totally fine with poly and/or background romances.

I lovelove/love/ Shiroe mentoring Minori, because watching Minori learn how people work and how to put herself forward enough to influence them for the better is wonderful. I'm fascinated by the possibilities of Minori/Roe2, because of how alien Roe2 is and how new to and delighted with interacting with humans she is, and how that affects Minori's ability to see into her and understand her motivations. Akatsuki/Crusty/Lenessia/Shiroe is my original 'ship, and I enjoy all the relationships within it: the interplay of Shiroe and Crusty's different versions of planning and leadership, plus Akatsuki's straightforward determination and Lenessia's struggle to wield power both effectively and responsibly. - please, please, PLEASE write PsiCorps with nuance!!! the show (especially Ivanova) just ignores the fact that it is *Earthforce* law that requires teeps to choose between the options of PsiCorps/sleepers/jail, that PsiCorps is a branch of Earthforce military and thus subject to military discipline - Earthforce is literally engaging in the forcible recruitment and brainwashing of child soldiers, forcing them to live in a specific area and wear identifying marks such as gloves and a yellow pin (lots of Holocaust imagery, between the ghetto and a yellow 'star'), but the show for some reason consistently blames telepaths and PsiCorps for those actions rather than the government or the "normal" society that looks the other way as long as the people it's being done to are telepaths. please don't do that! they are not a good organization by any means, and I wouldn't want a fic that sanctions their behavior, but they are unquestionably victims of oppression that goes back *generations* and this presumably influences their paranoia and ruthlessness, including against anyone who disrupts their status quo.
- I'd love worldbuilding about telepaths - the more not-quite-regular-human they are at the super high levels (like Bester), the better. For example, telepathy in B5 is described as passive/always-on; how does that affect child development for high-level teeps? Do they share "thoughts" only or also images/sounds/feelings? Can they go down into the subconscious level and if so what happens? What about scanning someone on the verge of death? How does telepathy affect trauma and vice-versa? How far can they go? Do high level telepaths get overwhelmed by noise the way lower level ones do, or do they understand it differently?
Plus, PsiCorps has existed for generations: what sort of weird cultural things have they developed? Has marriage (for children) and love become totally divorced as concepts? Do they have a concept of parenthood in the same way, given that there are references to their being raised communally? How do they understand the concept of privacy - assuming they understand it at all? How is memory manipulation understood, given that it might not be that uncommon?
- I love Garibaldi and Bester's interactions: enemy at first sight. First words! And yet they work together *so well* - the way they play off each other in Dust to Dust is just amazing. And then there's everything that happens later on that complicates everything even further...

If you think of another way of getting these two characters together, though, have at it!
I'd love to see them interacting as scientists or unraveling the history of Rowan's world. I'd also be happy with Rowan/Cordelia if you want to go that route. I also love Bel/Rowan, and I'm fine with background canon relationships.
Stephen Maturin (O'Brian) & Tenzing Tharkay (Temeraire)
These two would have fascinating chemistry. They're both travelers and polyglots, each with a rock-deep sense of personal morality and utter repugnance for authority, each with a huge chip on his shoulder regarding his parentage and ethnicity and how that means he's treated in "polite" society. But they're very different, too, in personality and the way they choose to deal with said chips on said shoulders.
I would absolutely adore spy shenanigans, travel fic, 5 + 1-style interactions throughout the years, natural philosophy, the effect of dragons on Irish and Catalan (and other) independence and Stephen's personal history with those, Stephen's opinion of Laurence (and Temeraire) and Tharkay's of Jack Aubrey--really it would be hard to find elements of each canon that I wouldn't find fascinating through the lens of the other, with these two at the center.

Re: shipping--if you want to include ships alongside those requested, I like all the canon relationships as well as Eddis/Attolia. I headcanon Eddis/politics/the magus in the books, where politics get firmly in the way because both of them have bigger things at stake.
Canon divergence or future-fic would also be loads of fun for this fandom. Political alliances through an Eddis/Attolia marriage? Eddis does wind up marrying Sounis the Elder early in the books, and the fallout of all that (perhaps with mutual Eddis/Magus pining)? The Magus, Eddis, and Attolia somehow manage to keep the peace in Queen of Attolia--how do they do it, what do they each gain, and what do they each give up?
For the & relationship, seriously anything with the three of them interacting, either all at once or the sort of complicated "Eddis talks to Attolia, who talks to the magus, who talks to..." progression Eddis jokes about in CoK. I'd adore something political (epistolary fic pre-series, with the three of them dancing around one another? Negotiations before any of the royal weddings? Dealing with the Mede post-CoK?), or maybe, for something more personal or humorous, they take advantage of an unexpected quiet moment between crises to complain about Eugenides.
For Eddis/the Magus, again, I'd love anything with a strong sense of politics, or epistolary fic; or something set during his captivity, perhaps? GERTRUDE. I love her so much, and I loved seeing how Jon's initial assessment of her fell apart as he realized what a ruthless badass she was and tried desperately to figure out what she was planning.
My first thought for Jon & Gertrude in particular is a one-sided epistolary story through statements and research notes, but go wild if you have other ideas.
I'd be fascinated to see how Gertrude grew into her role as the Archivist and came to realize what her real responsibilities were--and I'm sure Jon would be interested to find that out, too. Did she come into the job a true believer, or was she a skeptic at first? When did she fully understand what was at stake and what she could do about it? How did she decide to sacrifice her assistants, and how much guilt did she feel over it?
Dekker is a fascinating character, and I'd love to hear much more about him. Tell me all about how he came to work with Gertrude, ways they butted heads and saved each other over the years. There was a suggestion in a few stray lines of canon (and I think a Q&A session) that he may have had some crisis of religious faith, and I would love to see that sort of story play out in the context of TMA.
Don't worry about writing something that contradicts new canon--I'll happily go along with it regardless.

These books are such comfort reads for me, and these two relationships are the ones I'm most intrigued by at the moment. For either, I'd adore intrigue and spy shenanigans, mysteries and missions and military action, and travel.
Roland & Tharkay is such an interesting combination! We don't see much of them interacting even as he's running around delivering dragons for her (and then fetching Laurence). What did they make of each other? I imagine he'd find her blunt competence appealing. Missing scenes or correspondence at any point in the series would be great, or them striking up an unlikely post-series friendship, or go canon divergence and throw them into one another's company more than they actually were.
Tharkay/Laurence is just wonderful in the depth of trust that develops on both sides, and the way they grow to understand one another despite being so different (and Tharkay continuing to be enigmatic). I love the idea that Tharkay carried a bemused torch around the world, though I prefer him to be more resigned than angsty about it! Would love something plotty or otherwise dealing with some sort of external conflict alongside the getting-together elements for them.
Other ships I like, if you're looking for other elements to add: Laurence/Roland (I wouldn't consider them in an exclusive relationship in the post-Empire of Ivory period where they're pretty clearly separated, for infidelity DNW purposes) and post-affair, very affectionate and occasionally exasperated Laurence & Roland; Roland/Wellington (he insisted she get a title! Competence porn ahoy! I can't remember if his wife is mentioned in the books, but if this guilty pleasure ship of mine interests you, please just don't mention the fact that he's married. Ugh these two! There's so much potential for conflict, competence porn, reluctant respect and attachment, combative mentor/student dynamics followed by estrangement and then having to work together against a common enemy. And angry sex. I can definitely see that coming up eventually.
I'd prefer it if the romantic/sexual relationship only starts once Yennefer is no longer Tissaia's student. That said, Yennefer's progress in her studies and development into someone whose power Tissaia acknowledges is one of the missing scenes (or years, really) I most regretted in the show, so anything you write that illuminates that period would be wonderful.
I'm into politics of the Brotherhood and the courts; worldbuilding around magic; the characters performing magic that's impressively intricate or impressively explosive; and rivals-to-lovers (especially if the rivalry doesn't end) with moments of vulnerability and caring on both sides, especially if they're only shown briefly and/or under duress. But all the complicated respect and attraction. I'm also down for a fic that ends unhappily for the ship, in separation or a breakup, with Tissaia's death (not Yennefer's, please), etc.

I'm nearly through my third reading of this series, and I love everyone in this barque. All the characters feel like old friends. I love the nailbiting action sequences; the spycraft; the beautiful, beautiful depictions of the sea and of music; the natural philosophy and terrible medical practices; the genuine philosophical differences; the utterly indulgent way O'Brian has of solving problems with near-death injuries (PLATYPUS); the sense of the characters and relationships growing over time while always remaining true to themselves.
Stephen is my favorite. I love the way he thinks, the way he observes and processes the people around him, his tetchiness and reserve, and how much he adores Jack. I also resent him terribly for parts of his relationship with Diana while loving other aspects of it.
I'll enjoy anything that gives me more of the themes and dynamics of the books, especially if it does so while illuminating or challenging them in new ways. Stephen and Sophie's friendship and deep affection almost from the start is so wonderful. Maybe they begin a correspondence while he and Jack are at sea, or somehow she discovers his intelligence work? For Jack/Stephen or Jack & Stephen, anything with music, or adventures at sea, or featuring both the ways they know and respect each other and the parts of each other's character that cause conflict. For the Jack/Sophie and Diana/Stephen, I'd be over the moon to get something that alternates scenes between Ashgrove and aboard ship, contrasting the relationship between the women and the men, and the assumptions and hopes and frustrations they have with long periods apart.

Or, what about her growing bond with the female protagonist (and I'm cool with Io developing romantic feelings for her) and relationships with the other companions? She seems to prefer to keep to herself, but she did ask Murasame for help in creating her weapon Dammerung. Then there's the true ending, as even though she seems to sacrifice herself for her Successor, the full ending implies she's still alive and able to travel with her companions beyond Vein, and you could show more of how she managed to create that miracle.

What kind of relationship would she have with the adults Julie and Scar? As stated above, I ship Ai/Dee, and also Julie/Dee if you want some age difference, Julie/Dee. Either relationship may involve some kind of guilt and angst, but for different reasons, and it would be interesting to see how Dee would handle feelings of love by the end of canon.
* Julie Sakuma Dmitriyevich: Being the father-figure of the group, how does Julie care for the others? How does he feel about having a family again? He's the oldest of the group, so how does he see the world as compared to the others? For backstory, there's his life with his wife and daughter (and Julie was quite young when his daughter was born), or you could explore his grief after their deaths. I definitely ship him with Scar as they bond over Celica together, and also Julie/Dee as suggested above. He's already been married once, so would he worry about compared Scar to his deceased wife, or how would the age difference between him and Dee affect any such relationship?
For Julie/Scar and Julie/Dee in particular, smut is also fine with me.

Lucas/Ibuki: This is my all-time OTP; I am not even kidding. Despite the fact that one character is an outright villain with an occasional comic-relief-y twist and the other is a tone-lightening "one of your friends" character, I adore that the two of them... ac-tually have really similar energies, seem to have a lot of tastes in common (pff, they both come off as basically giant Hot Topic kids), are both playful and restless, and the like; and especially considering they both seem to have issues actually getting along/gelling with others (especially Lucas, needless to say), there you have me being an instant sucker for the fact that I could actually see them being happy around and keeping up with each other.
Some ideas I have for them include something, say, in a more Dangan Ronpa-influenced setting or universe where a never-encountered-Eveline Lucas and Ibuki end up meeting through the former having some kind of rivalry with Miu; a more pre-7 Resident Evil kind of setup where Ibuki's passing through town on a tour or vacation only to end up hitting it off with Lucas and having him trying to get her to take him with her as a roadie; a canon blend where DR's Despair replaces RE's bioterrorism epidemic or vice versa (DR2 SPOILERS in these brackets, but making use of the fact that both Lucas and Ibuki have had stints as war criminals in that idea might be an angle); or any kind of whole-cloth AU!
Jake/Zoe: A crossover ship I really like the whole “vibe and aesthetic” of! A guy who was tired of the pressure he was under as a normal dude born into a prestigious, wealthy big-city family; ran away from it all to live independently and simply fending for himself in the wilderness; and wound up picked by bad luck to serve as a fox in an eternal human-on-human foxhunt… and a lady who lived happily for a while with her old-fashioned but quietly-living family in the sticks up until they were turned into monsters and she, likewise, was turned into a lone survivor in her own home. This is actually a case where a "sucked into another world" thing... wouldn't "count" for me, since it's a DBD world mechanic! I wouldn’t mind something that involves, say, Zoe getting drawn into the Entity’s realm as a Survivor at some point, though another thought I had was one of Zoe winding up going on to live a similar lifestyle to Jake after she escapes the estate, the two of them just “happening to meet” that way, or even Jake somehow escaping the Entity’s realm before that happens and the two trying to build a peaceful life that way.
Mettaton/Noodle: HA, THIS ONE IS A PAIRING MY BEST PAL AND I CAME UP WITH TOGETHER WHILE HE WAS ESPECIALLY INTO GORILLAZ WHILE I WAS JUGGLIN' UNDERTALE WITH MY OTHER FANDOMS - and I still feel the potential in it holdin' true! Two musical stars from very odd and quirky worlds - Noodle on the surface level arguably the weirdest of the bunch, but also very competent and taking her craft very seriously... while Mettaton is arguably similar-yet-different, as a consummate performer who's smarter and has more capacity to be mature and thoughtful than he lets on, while also having a more hedonistic and showbiz-y streak than Noodle does... in a way she'd still probably be used to getting to know and deal with in a personal cohort.

So, I read Cast in Deception and immediately fell in love with the idea of Barian/Lirienne, with their wary respect for each other and all of the issues of politics and loyalty and trust involved in such a relationship. Then I started thinking, and realized there are a great many stories I want to see in this universe. I want gen Barian & Lirienne stories: what are their political/social coalitions? Relationships with the Hallionne, or the way the very land (still more the people) of the West March divides its loyalties between them? I want to see more of Tiamaris's and Sanabalis's relationship, either as student-teacher or now navigating the newer tension of young-dragon-with-hoard and older-dragon-without, especially with Sanabalis's new duties/restricted movements after Cast in Wisdom. I want to see Tara and Tiamaris working together to protect and improve the fief. How do any of these pairs balance their personal priorities with larger ones (the survival of the world, the survival of the Barrani/Consort/dragons/Bellusdeo, the struggle against shadow...)? What do their activities look like on a day-to-day level? Basically, anything from the largest to the smallest scale would be awesome! Gen, het, fem/slash all good. No modern or genre-shift AUs, please. Elantra alternate histories or other worldbuilding very welcome.

I'm a sucker for complicated ruler/retainer relations and also for female leaders, so these movies (especially the original) were catnip to me. I love that this presentation of Wu Zetian focuses on her ambition as an emperor (rather than her sexual relationships), and that it lets her be competent and ambivalent. I love that Di has been on both the right and the wrong side of her ambition, and that she understands what she can demand of him and what will go too far, even when that line is very thin. I love that he is smart and manipulative himself but with a very strong ethical code. Any story that involves Wu Zetian and Di Renjie interacting is perfect for me. If you'd prefer to write Di investigating something, where Emperor Wu is felt rather than physically present, that's great, too, as is Wu finding some problem that she needs to throw him at, where his presence is off-screen. I'm looking for a gen focus here, though feel free to incorporate het/(fem)slash background relationships with other people. I'd prefer any AU to keep Wu Zetian in a position of significant power and Di in one of some authority, but within those bounds, genre-shift or AU all you like. ([More] magical realism? Great! In space? Awesome. Another era of Chinese history? Excellent. Wu Zetian took a different path to power? Very cool. I am totally on-board with the anachronisms of the movies, because stories of Magistrate Di have been anachronistic basically since they started being written down, so you have lots of flexibility.)

I love both Tim Drake and Cass Cain. I love that they're both ferociously competent people in their own, specific zones, and confident in that competence but also insecure about areas outside their zones. I love that they're legacy heroes very different from their predecessors and push and pull their role to make space for themselves, then eventually have to let go of it and make new space for themselves within the Batfamily. I love that they can each read the other's silences in different ways, Cass through body language and behavior, Tim putting pieces together. I'll love any story of them interacting, working together, working on separate projects but staying in touch, feeling their way through Batfamily/superheroic dynamics. (Not a fan of Cass or Tim as villains, nor of them being completely at odds, though conflict over means/methods/activities is very welcome!) Gen, het, (fem)slash all good, I don't have an OTP for either, but please center Cass and Tim.
As for Barbara, give me Barbara Gordon being smart and competent and I am *so there*. I love Barbara as Oracle, behind the scenes and in control (except when she's not), a trustworthy leader and mentor, who's also deceptive and deflective (like many Bats), but I also love her in Washington, DC or Burnside, navigating society in her own face. For Babs/Dinah, I particularly love their early Birds of Prey dynamic, where Dinah recognizes Barbara's issues and chooses to trust her anyway. I adore the way Dinah holds her own code of honor yet is flexible enough to work with and love difficult people: a team player who remains stubbornly herself. For Babs & Ted Kord, I adore the ways they geek out at and egg on each other, how they can flirt and compete and rely on each other, as well as how flabbergasted Ted gets at Barbara's ruthlessness, without ever judging her for it. I love that Ted is also forced to sit out direct battles and fight behind the scenes, and that he works out his own way to do that. Any plots that involve Barbara and Dinah or Barbara and Ted working on a project together (crime-fighting or otherwise! I will happily take them trying to build computer models, or refine security systems, or lobby Congress, or whatever) is marvelous. Anything with them stumbling through how to be supportive lovers or friends is awesome. Clearly, I am more interested in femslash than het here, but I'm totally fine with poly and/or background romances.
(Canon note: I imprinted on Barbara Gordon as Oracle and leader of the Birds of Prey, on Cass Cain as Batgirl, and on Tim Drake as Robin, but I read a lot of backissues, and I'm familiar with more recent developments. I'm equally happy with timeline-what-timeline stories, something grounded in a specific issue/run--tell me which one, and I'll look it up if I haven't read it yet--or anything in between. I'm in this one for the characters trying to build a functional society after the trapping of the adventurers destabilizes everything. I loved when Shiroe bought the guild building to force everyone to listen, and then I loved even *more* when the second season pointed out that this sort of monopoly could have epically bad consequences, too. I lovelove/love/ Shiroe mentoring Minori, because watching Minori learn how people work and how to put herself forward enough to influence them for the better is wonderful. I'm fascinated by the possibilities of Minori/Roe2, because of how alien Roe2 is and how new to and delighted with interacting with humans she is, and how that affects Minori's ability to see into her and understand her motivations. Akatsuki/Crusty/Lenessia/Shiroe is my original 'ship, and I enjoy all the relationships within it: the interplay of Shiroe and Crusty's different versions of planning and leadership, plus Akatsuki's straightforward determination and Lenessia's struggle to wield power both effectively and responsibly. They're great in all combinations! I'm good with gen, het, or fem/slash, though I'd rather avoid Minori het, and I'd prefer no explicit stories with Minori. Also, no modern or genre-shift AUs, please. Elder Tales or Yamato alternate histories or other worldbuilding are great.

If you're writing darkfic, OK if other people fetishize it or fixate on it (e.g., JGY only becoming interested in NMJ after finding out about his assigned-at-birth gender, WRH changing his mind on the spot from torture to wanting NMJ to bear him a son to make up for the one he killed, etc.), but again, strong preference for NMJ's angst to be focused on other things than his gender.

- I'd love worldbuilding about telepaths - the more not-quite-regular-human they are at the super high levels (like Bester), the better. For example, telepathy in B5 is described as passive/always-on; how does that affect child development for high-level teeps? Do they share "thoughts" only or also images/sounds/feelings? Can they go down into the subconscious level and if so what happens? What about scanning someone on the verge of death? How does telepathy affect trauma and vice-versa? How far can they go? Do high level telepaths get overwhelmed by noise the way lower level ones do, or do they understand it differently?
Plus, PsiCorps has existed for generations: what sort of weird cultural things have they developed? Has marriage (for children) and love become totally divorced as concepts? Do they have a concept of parenthood in the same way, given that there are references to their being raised communally? How do they understand the concept of privacy - assuming they understand it at all? How is memory manipulation understood, given that it might not be that uncommon?
- I love Garibaldi and Bester's interactions: enemy at first sight. First words! And yet they work together *so well* - the way they play off each other in Dust to Dust is just amazing. And then there's everything that happens later on that complicates everything even further...

If you think of another way of getting these two characters together, though, have at it!
I'd love to see them interacting as scientists or unraveling the history of Rowan's world. I'd also be happy with Rowan/Cordelia if you want to go that route. I also love Bel/Rowan, and I'm fine with background canon relationships.
Stephen Maturin (O'Brian) & Tenzing Tharkay (Temeraire)
These two would have fascinating chemistry. They're both travelers and polyglots, each with a rock-deep sense of personal morality and utter repugnance for authority, each with a huge chip on his shoulder regarding his parentage and ethnicity and how that means he's treated in "polite" society. But they're very different, too, in personality and the way they choose to deal with said chips on said shoulders.

Re: shipping--if you want to include ships alongside those requested, I like all the canon relationships as well as Eddis/Attolia. I headcanon Eddis/politics/the magus in the books, where politics get firmly in the way because both of them have bigger things at stake.
Canon divergence or future-fic would also be loads of fun for this fandom. Political alliances through an Eddis/Attolia marriage? Eddis does wind up marrying Sounis the Elder early in the books, and the fallout of all that (perhaps with mutual Eddis/Magus pining)? The Magus, Eddis, and Attolia somehow manage to keep the peace in Queen of Attolia--how do they do it, what do they each gain, and what do they each give up?
For the & relationship, seriously anything with the three of them interacting, either all at once or the sort of complicated "Eddis talks to Attolia, who talks to the magus, who talks to..." progression Eddis jokes about in CoK. I'd adore something political (epistolary fic pre-series, with the three of them dancing around one another? Negotiations before any of the royal weddings? Dealing with the Mede post-CoK?), or maybe, for something more personal or humorous, they take advantage of an unexpected quiet moment between crises to complain about Eugenides.
For Eddis/the Magus, again, I'd love anything with a strong sense of politics, or epistolary fic; or something set during his captivity, perhaps? Clearly a lot happened there that we never got to see. Sharing myths, plotting for the future of their countries, wry and repressed longing or clandestine meetings, any of it.

My first thought for Jon & Gertrude in particular is a one-sided epistolary story through statements and research notes, but go wild if you have other ideas.
I'd be fascinated to see how Gertrude grew into her role as the Archivist and came to realize what her real responsibilities were--and I'm sure Jon would be interested to find that out, too. Did she come into the job a true believer, or was she a skeptic at first? When did she fully understand what was at stake and what she could do about it? How did she decide to sacrifice her assistants, and how much guilt did she feel over it?
Dekker is a fascinating character, and I'd love to hear much more about him. Tell me all about how he came to work with Gertrude, ways they butted heads and saved each other over the years. There was a suggestion in a few stray lines of canon (and I think a Q&A session) that he may have had some crisis of religious faith, and I would love to see that sort of story play out in the context of TMA.
Don't worry about writing something that contradicts new canon--I'll happily go along with it regardless.

These books are such comfort reads for me, and these two relationships are the ones I'm most intrigued by at the moment. For either, I'd adore intrigue and spy shenanigans, mysteries and missions and military action, and travel.
Roland & Tharkay is such an interesting combination! We don't see much of them interacting even as he's running around delivering dragons for her (and then fetching Laurence). What did they make of each other? I imagine he'd find her blunt competence appealing. Missing scenes or correspondence at any point in the series would be great, or them striking up an unlikely post-series friendship, or go canon divergence and throw them into one another's company more than they actually were.
Tharkay/Laurence is just wonderful in the depth of trust that develops on both sides, and the way they grow to understand one another despite being so different (and Tharkay continuing to be enigmatic). I love the idea that Tharkay carried a bemused torch around the world, though I prefer him to be more resigned than angsty about it! Would love something plotty or otherwise dealing with some sort of external conflict alongside the getting-together elements for them.
Other ships I like, if you're looking for other elements to add: Laurence/Roland (I wouldn't consider them in an exclusive relationship in the post-Empire of Ivory period where they're pretty clearly separated, for infidelity DNW purposes) and post-affair, very affectionate and occasionally exasperated Laurence & Roland; Roland/Wellington (he insisted she get a title! Competence porn ahoy! I can't remember if his wife is mentioned in the books, but if this guilty pleasure ship of mine interests you, please just don't mention the fact that he's married. I can't imagine Roland conducting an affair that could harm another woman.) And, of course, Laurence & Temeraire, OTP of OTPs for this series.

Ugh these two! There's so much potential for conflict, competence porn, reluctant respect and attachment, combative mentor/student dynamics followed by estrangement and then having to work together against a common enemy. And angry sex. I can definitely see that coming up eventually.
I'd prefer it if the romantic/sexual relationship only starts once Yennefer is no longer Tissaia's student. That said, Yennefer's progress in her studies and development into someone whose power Tissaia acknowledges is one of the missing scenes (or years, really) I most regretted in the show, so anything you write that illuminates that period would be wonderful.
I'm into politics of the Brotherhood and the courts; worldbuilding around magic; the characters performing magic that's impressively intricate or impressively explosive; and rivals-to-lovers (especially if the rivalry doesn't end) with moments of vulnerability and caring on both sides, especially if they're only shown briefly and/or under duress. But all the complicated respect and attraction. I'm also down for a fic that ends unhappily for the ship, in separation or a breakup, with Tissaia's death (not Yennefer's, please), etc.
Including canon-typical Yennefer/Geralt is fine--I quite enjoy their dynamic.

I'm nearly through my third reading of this series, and I love everyone in this barque. All the characters feel like old friends. I love the nailbiting action sequences; the spycraft; the beautiful, beautiful depictions of the sea and of music; the natural philosophy and terrible medical practices; the genuine philosophical differences; the utterly indulgent way O'Brian has of solving problems with near-death injuries (PLATYPUS); the sense of the characters and relationships growing over time while always remaining true to themselves.
Stephen is my favorite. I love the way he thinks, the way he observes and processes the people around him, his tetchiness and reserve, and how much he adores Jack. I also resent him terribly for parts of his relationship with Diana while loving other aspects of it.
I'll enjoy anything that gives me more of the themes and dynamics of the books, especially if it does so while illuminating or challenging them in new ways. Stephen and Sophie's friendship and deep affection almost from the start is so wonderful. Maybe they begin a correspondence while he and Jack are at sea, or somehow she discovers his intelligence work? For Jack/Stephen or Jack & Stephen, anything with music, or adventures at sea, or featuring both the ways they know and respect each other and the parts of each other's character that cause conflict. For the Jack/Sophie and Diana/Stephen, I'd be over the moon to get something that alternates scenes between Ashgrove and aboard ship, contrasting the relationship between the women and the men, and the assumptions and hopes and frustrations they have with long periods apart.

* Io: A sweet, mysterious girl with a giant halberd - yep, she's definitely my favorite character in this canon. There's a lot you can do with her; you could write something pre-canon, focusing on the years she spent searching for her missing Successor while evading the dangerous Lost. Or, what about her growing bond with the female protagonist (and I'm cool with Io developing romantic feelings for her) and relationships with the other companions? She seems to prefer to keep to herself, but she did ask Murasame for help in creating her weapon Dammerung. Then there's the true ending, as even though she seems to sacrifice herself for her Successor, the full ending implies she's still alive and able to travel with her companions beyond Vein, and you could show more of how she managed to create that miracle.

* Dee Ensy Stratmitos: The ghostly witch of the west - how did she became known as Whisper? How did she first realize she could compel others? Did she ever try to find her parents? How much guilt does she feel about nearly trapping her companions in Ostia forever? How do Ai and Alice try to reach out to her afterwards? What kind of relationship would she have with the adults Julie and Scar? As stated above, I ship Ai/Dee, and also Julie/Dee if you want some age difference, Julie/Dee. Either relationship may involve some kind of guilt and angst, but for different reasons, and it would be interesting to see how Dee would handle feelings of love by the end of canon.
* Julie Sakuma Dmitriyevich: Being the father-figure of the group, how does Julie care for the others? How does he feel about having a family again? He's the oldest of the group, so how does he see the world as compared to the others? For backstory, there's his life with his wife and daughter (and Julie was quite young when his daughter was born), or you could explore his grief after their deaths. I definitely ship him with Scar as they bond over Celica together, and also Julie/Dee as suggested above. He's already been married once, so would he worry about compared Scar to his deceased wife, or how would the age difference between him and Dee affect any such relationship?
For Julie/Scar and Julie/Dee in particular, smut is also fine with me.
