Can we please keep the Star Trek novels separate? There are hundreds of them and they are not all the same continuity, lots of them contradict each other. They definitely aren't all the same canon.

And (at least for the Pawns and Symbols nomination - I can't speak for the others because I don't know what novel(s) they might be from) those characters are the protagonists in that one novel and only appear in that one novel.
