Nagi understanding and feeling the sheer panic that is losing Reo and then growing overly emotional or protective of the other.

I recently read about on field cardiac events and it would be fun to read something like Reo having a cardiac arrest on field. Possibly from something congenital or some kind of condition. Nagi is suddenly faced with the fact that his Reo’s heart isn't beating. They manage to resuscitate and Nagi just won't let Reo go. He's angry, upset and just so, so glad.

It could be different situations too - Reo’s sick to the point where his pulse can't be felt by a non-medical professional like Nagi and until the ambulance arrives, Nagi is sure his boyfriend is dead.

Another could be something with Reo getting a potentially terminal illness and making it out. But throughout the treatment Nagi is terrified that this is it for them. Scares are there of course.

Guren understanding and feeling the sheer panic that is losing Shinya and then growing overly emotional or protective of the other. He already once went the horror of losing Shinya. He sacrificed the world for that. I love the tangible sense of helplessness that went through Guren when he realized in the novel that Shinya’s heart still wasn't beating and how it would make things pointless.

People don't often see Guren panic so outsider thoughts on that would be fun too.

A field injury where Shinya gets sucked on by a vampire + blood loss from an injury leads to a cardiac event. He doesn't understand in the beginning due to the adrenaline until he collapses in the middle of a joking statement or such. Guren breaks down when he can't find a pulse and someone else needs to take over to ensure Shinya makes it.

Or something similar when Mahiru (in Guren's body) stabs Shinya and they aren't able to immediately save him and Guren faces the panic of potentially being responsible for his loved one's death.

Or something where Shinya is sick/dehydrated enough that Guren can't find a pulse when he collapses. He's in full fledged panic until someone else steps in. For some reason, in this specific case I simply adore the imagery of Kureto being this.

Laxus understanding and feeling the sheer panic that is losing Freed and then growing overly emotional or protective of the other. I like the idea of Dragon Slayers feeling the loss of a mate even strong.

A mission goes wrong and Freed gets badly injured. Due to the nature of Dark Ecriture, he doesn't understand the extent of the injuries until he collapses in cardiac arrest. The entire Raijinshuu panics but Laxus is the worst. Someone takes charge of resuscitation while the other ensures Laxus doesn't lose control.

Or something where Freed gets some form of magic sickness where Laxus can't feel his pulse and panics when Freed passes out, thinking he's gone. It could fun to have this happen in the Guild Hall and everyone witnesses Laxus' panic. Wendy or Mira or someone steps in to help.

I may have gotten my happy ending with the show, but there was still so much missed angst potential that was left ignored and untapped that I love reading fics about. I'm definitely looking for something set during/near the end of/after S6 or something set at the end of S7, whether it's about their reunion or something set after they've already gotten back together, but are working the kinks out. I just feel like after having to sit through the painful baby and marriage plots, I deserved the satisfaction of hearing an 'I never stopped loving you' speech from Toni or something else that gave her perspective on all of that. Not to mention that the one benefit of half your ship having a baby with someone else is the delicious potential angst and hard convos it can trigger, so to miss out on all of that was a tragedy that I turn to fics to explore. Since we robbed of Toni's POV in all ways in S6, but especially in regards to her feelings for Cheryl, I do like fics that give Toni an opportunity to prove/show her side of things, since we already know Cheryl was still pathetically in love. It doesn't have to be from her POV necessarily, but just plots that are set up to delve into her side of things more.

I've really thrown myself into this show this season and it's because of my interest in Misty/Nat's dynamic, particularly the more unexplored younger version of them. I do enjoy their adult fics, so if you want to write something that spans all the timelines including the adult timeline, that's cool, but otherwise, would prefer something on the younger side. I'm a big fan of fics set before the crash, set in the wilderness or set in the few years after being rescued. I usually prefer fics to be close to canon but in this case, it's more the characters' personalities coming together that I dig moreso than their canon history, so if you want to do something in a no crash AU with them, in high school or college, I'd be into it, though preferably not genre bending type AU, like spies or pirates or historical, etc. In the case of no crash AUs, you can set it in modern times if you prefer. Since the show is not shy with showing Misty's devotion and feelings for Nat, I do tend to enjoy fics that focus more on exploring/developing Nat's feelings for Misty, just saying. Also, in this ship's case, I'm okay if the romance/feelings don't result in an actual relationship, but moreso acknowledged/acted upon in some way. As long as there's some kind of hopeful ending, you don't have to go ~all in with them for it to be a happy ending to me.

The characters end up in Renaissance Europe (possibly through weird science time travel, possibly through Houmei reading a forbidden sutra, or just by falling into a magic spring) – they're still Buddhist monks training to be sanzos, now they're just a long way from home in time and space.

I especially love the character of Clovis Sangrail and his terrible (for other people) sense of humour. Clovis, who is so Terribly Frank, and who refuses to ever be officially older than seventeen, may not have been tutored by a heretic sanzo but in sheer happy mean-spiritedness he can probably give Kami-sama a run for his money. Put these two lovely young monsters together!
Keia Nomesteturjai & Cho Hakkai - through bad coordinates, manipulations of the Foundation Sutras, etc, the Aja Jin has jumped into Ancient Fantasy Chinese space, and Jik (Keia Nomesteturjai) finds himself in Tougenkyou. Luckily, he finds a local with an encyclopaedic knowledge of this primitive planet's history/current events to help him and his crew out. Tifa & Barret (& Cloud) — Tifa and Barret have worked together for years, and must have a close relationship from that. I'd love anything expanding on Tifa and Barret's friendship — having that extra layer of trust, inside jokes, and general comfort with each other that comes with knowing each other and having been there for each other in hard times. And then there's how Cloud fits into that, and how he slots into their dynamic.

And, of course, Tifa's heartbreak at the end of Rebirth...

I love Cloud being awkward and angry and thinking all the boys he grew up with were stupid, but still falling for Zack's charm. And I love Zack's flirting and charisma meaning he could be friends/lovers with anyone but he chose Cloud.
Generally, I have no squicks or hard limits on anything. Archive warnings are all fine in any combination, if you want to go there, with the exception of noncon involving female characters. Yue Yinchuan, Tan Heng & Yue Yinchuan: I was just a huge fan of Yue Yinchuan, so I'd be happy to see anything for him! Maybe something post-canon with him interacting with Xiao Yuanshi? And I thought him and Tan Heng were hilarious and a great team, so I'd love to get some banter from them.

I was imagining a forever young (but 18+) male ghost. Very cool with the witch being 2+ decades older than the ghost appears to be if that’s something you’d be interested in! I think that’d be an interesting dynamic! But really I'm open to a wide range of ages for her, although I'd prefer she be at least mid 20s. I also recently saw a Tumblr post about witch being a gender neutral term, so sorry about that! I definitely assumed witch meant female when I nominated, and I hope that doesn't cause any issues for you.

• Idea 1: the ghost has been dead for a long time (1950s? 1890s? 1770s?) but no one can tell bc he can change how his outfit/hair looks and he likes to "shop" at the Hot Topic he haunts so people tend to assume he died more recently. Maybe he confides in the witch exactly how long he's been dead?
• Idea 2: he died in the 1980s or 1990s or something when the mall was already around but the Hot Topic was a different store. He's stuck haunting whatever shop is there and complains about the passage of time (and also maybe worries what will happen to him when the mall no longer exists)

Liu Fuyi/Mu Yao: I thought they were alright for most of the show, but I wasn't super intrigued or invested in them... but then we got the arc of Liu Fuyi going back home/getting married/everything with the soot demon, and I really enjoyed those episodes! I definitely fell in love with Chesterton's works a long time ago, particularly his Father Brown stories, and while I always loved Flambeau in the stories, I never really felt the need to ship the two of them together, despite all the slashy overtones. And then I watched the series... and kept watching... and specifically rewatched the Flambeau episodes and I was hooked. It's so clear in the show that Father Brown is just as invested in Flambeau as he is in him, and it's so much fun to just see Father Brown breaking the law just so Flambeau won't get caught, while Flambeau in return just can't stay away from the good priest, especially if he needs help. The ending of the latest episode with the two of them truly had me going, “okay, so you're both willing to give up everything to save the other one” and I can just soak that kind of thing up all day.

Or going back to canon, what if they met a different way, say during World War 2, with Flambeau as a young soldier who can't understand why this chaplain keeps a close eye on him. Surely, he has better things to do with his life (he does not).

So I am fully caught up with the series, which means I am definitely into Flambeau using his thieving talents to steal shit back for the Vatican. Of course, he ropes Father Brown into it at one point, or maybe Father Brown gets entangled into it all on his own (as he is wont to do) and before you know it, artifacts are getting stolen (again), people are having to save each other (again), and the police really should just sit this one out and let the professionals handle it.

And you know, there's always murder. Can't go wrong with that! This is probably one of my formative “I love/hate you vampire dad” media and I recently decided to rewatch it to see if it was as good as I remembered. The show's really generous with the flashbacks and the historical cameos, but hey, as Divia says, there's always room for more. What are some other scrapes Nick has gotten himself into and how did LaCroix react to them? Or if you'd like to go post-canon and Nick takes LaCroix up on his offer (or LaCroix just ignores his self-destructive stupidity and makes the decision for him), where do they go from there? It's a big world and it's been three decades since the show was on the air, so there's plenty of ground that could be covered.

Okay, so my unpopular opinion is that I actually do love the third season the most, even though I understand why people who'd been there from the beginning weren't as receptive to the changes it made. That being said, I would love it if the finale wasn't all misery and pain. Maybe the events of the last episode are some sort of weird dream brought on by Divia's attack, or Nick makes less catastrophic decisions (brings Tracy across, doesn't murder Natalie with vampire sex, maybe gets the hell out of town for a while like LaCroix suggests).

Or, what about her growing bond with the female protagonist (and I'm cool with Io developing romantic feelings for her) and relationships with the other companions? She seems to prefer to keep to herself, but she did ask Murasame for help in creating her weapon Dammerung. Then there's the true ending, as even though she seems to sacrifice herself for her Successor, the full ending implies she's still alive and able to travel with her companions beyond Vein, and you could show more of how she managed to create that miracle.

Maybe a dangerous situation or a near-fatal injury leads to a realization of romantic feelings? After their journey, where do they go next? Does Agnea try to teach Osvald how to dance?
