In cases where specific versions are nominated, I usually give preference for those to ensure people can match to authors or recipients who consumed the same version of canon, and we do have Villanueve movie & book nominations this year. If you're interested in different characterizations, would you want to convert these to crossover noms with one character in each relationship from a different version, for example?
