We're passed the deadline, but we're not quite at the finish line!

We do have a number of extensions, in addition to pinch hits that had later due dates, so I still expect a number of works to be added to the collection in the coming weeks. If you don't yet have a gift waiting for you, it's likely for one of these reasons, but you can feel free to email me just to double-check.

There are 17 post-deadline pinch hits available. These are due 25 June at 22:59 US Eastern time, one day before our planned reveals date. However, it's possible I'll have to delay the collection opening to make sure all participants are covered, so if you know you can take one of these pinch hits but will need longer than the 25th, please let me know, and we can discuss.

Likes: I love reading about platonic relationships, hurt/comfort, whump and angst with a happy ending! I heavily prefer Loki at the receiving end in the physical/emotional hurt/comfort or whump, but Thor will do as well (I prefer emotional hurt/comfort for him usually).

5. How Loki and Thor's seiðr (magic) differs? How did they learn to handle it as youths? Was there jealousy/sibling rivarly in that aspect of their relationship?
6. I was kind of wondering what place does prophecy have in Asgardian culture. Are soothsayers and seers common? Maybe every god gets a prophecy when they come of age? If so what prophecies did Thor and Loki get?
7. An angsty fic about Loki's perception of himself and his Jotun identity. Maybe a descend in madness, or the way out of it (if not entirely, Loki has many issues after all).
8. A classic all the Avengers live in the Tower fic, with Loki added in the mix; a quest of unwilling redemption. I would prefer an optimistic ending for this one! Loki's sceptre could play a key role, or perhaps the Other makes an appearence? It could explore key aspects of Loki's missing year, if anyone wants to.
9. Also, would be interesting if the Avengers ever saw Asgard, or another Realm of the Nine. Perhaps with Loki and Thor accompanying them.
10. A post-Avengers (2012) quest/mission fic that leads to reconciliation. (Loki & Thor or Loki & Thor & The Avengers).
11. Any sort of AU or canon divergence is welcome. (I will toss a random idea like Ancient Rome, sort of Barbarians AU, but go with what your heart tells you <3).

I got a really fun and blessedly long Choni fic for this exchange last year and then no other fics covering what I've craved since, so I'm back to ask for more. I may have gotten my happy ending with the show, but there was still so much missed angst potential that was left ignored and untapped that I love reading fics about. I'm definitely looking for something set during/near the end of/after S6 or something set at the end of S7, whether it's about their reunion or something set after they've already gotten back together, but are working the kinks out. Or anything post a reunion that deals with some potential family growing pains. I just feel like after having to sit through the painful baby and marriage plots, I deserved the satisfaction of hearing an 'I never stopped loving you' speech from Toni or something else that gave her perspective on all of that. Not to mention that the one benefit of half your ship having a baby with someone else is the delicious potential angst and hard convos it can trigger, so to miss out on all of that was a tragedy that I turn to fics to explore. Since we were robbed of Toni's POV in all ways in S6, but especially in regards to her feelings for Cheryl, I do like fics that give Toni an opportunity to prove/show her side of things, since we already know Cheryl was still pathetically in love. It doesn't have to be from her POV necessarily, but just plots that are set up to delve into her side of things more.

Something so compelling to me about the idea that Nicky thinking Rachel is his soulmate and Jules thinking Nellie is his soulmate, and them being brothers and marrying them can feel like fate’s way of bringing the actual soulmates Rachel and Nellie together to meet. Like didn't Nicky meet Rachel when he was at the airport to go to their wedding? Mmm.

The two of them would be terrifying and hot together.
Lotor being evil is hot too. Pidge is the sort of intellectual who might be convinced by the right arguments, which lends itself to the 'morally corrupted' trope.

My beloved modern toxic tragic yaoi with aliens and kaiju. Not a great Godzilla installment, but a fantastic successor to all those 90s BLs with sad boys being intense about each other and only being able to embrace in death.

Ideas
* Metphies character study focusing on his relationship and manipulation and fondness for Haruo, tragic ending included.
* The psychic neural network of the Exif: it's sort of implied that Metphies' consciousness exists in the network even after death, and Haruo trying and failing to adapt to a happy hunter-gatherer life as observed and commented on by Metphies' ghost could be interesting.
* Canon compliant missing scenes that explain why Haruo is so utterly devastated by Metphies' death.
* Something exploring or explaining the way the very first time we see them interact, Haruo just accepts that Metphies is waiting for him to wake up inside the jail cell with him as a natural thing, and the way he readily yields to Metphies manhandling him into position.
* That height difference. Haruo isn't exactly short, but Metphies looms without trying. (I swear the movies deliberately frame them a lot in a manner where Metphies looms over Haruo in a bit of visual foreshadowing)
* The other Exif, Endurph, being annoyed that Metphies keeps making these decisions without consulting him, the elder, like when Metphies revealed Gidorah's name to Haruo, and Metphies not giving a flying fuck. (And then cursing Metphies from the Exif's metaplane post-death if Metphies decides Haruo is more important than their faith and mission?)

I've a soft spot for Smaug, and the movies made Bilbo/Thranduil very appealing. So here's my crackship request for either Bilbo/Thranduil or Bilbo/Thranduil/Smaug.
I loved Bilbo's bantering with Smaug. Smaug seemed to indulge Bilbo so long as he was kept amused and his appetite (for knowledge) kept sated, and, well, there are many ways to amuse and many appetites to feed. And hey, in another universe, what better distraction from the dwarves than an unknown creature suddenly deciding to do a desperate striptease?
Or, maybe Smaug has a human-ish form he rarely bothers to use except for when he was young and enjoyed tricking people out of their gold and jewels. Maybe he started out as a deft pickpocket, maybe he got bored and ran a merc group for the carnage and gold, maybe he had fun as a catburglar for a while - I imagine Bilbo being a cherished pet and/or writing down the story of Smaug could be fun.
But then, Thranduil! Bilbo and Thranduil being both clever and cunning is so compelling to me, and the way Thranduil is willing to negotiate with Bilbo just hit a nice soft spot for me. Thranduil could use some gentle care and good-natured ribbing and nagging from Bilbo. Bilbo deserves to be recognized and respected for his role in resolving the Man-Elf-Dwarf relations.
Bilbo somehow being the glue that cements and binds Thranduil and Smaug in a triad could be explosive. The best reluctant enemies to lovers!
Also, the movie had Smaug give Thranduil a nasty face wound that won't heal. That could be fun to explore as Smaug thinking of it as some sort of mark of ownership, how he's indelibly changed Thranduil forever.
Or whatever else sparks the imagination.

I would honestly love to see something from before the start of canon, either the Old Border or just a year or two before, when most of the A-rankers had already arrived. Or Aftokrator-AUs, where some of them are from the Neighbourhood, but from a non-antagonistic world. Or an Away Mission gone wrong and now they have to get back to the away ship/gate/etc. while cut away from everything and everyone they know. Having to pretend to be in a relationship/married/master & servant/entertainers to sneak past the Neighbours because Jin can see anything else won't work.
Or, another favourite of mine, life outside of Border for Border agents -- how's school/uni when you're a not-so-secret badass agent who fights aliens? Some agents are obviously more famous than others, some probably enjoy the fame while others very much do not.
Anything with Jin is great--either with the included pairings, but don't feel limited to these. Some of my favourites include (and also, both romantic or platonic for practically all of them):
- Amou: we know so little about him, but most of the time (ok, twice out of three times we've seen him iirc?) he was talking with Jin; they appear to be friends, just because they're (were) both S-rank, or due to their eye-powers (lol). How does he feel about being such a terrifying fighter?
- Jin/Shinoda: Does tachikawa know about it? How big a tantrum did he throw when he found out/was told? Who feels bad about it and who doesn't?
- Kido: sort of a bad guy but actually not really, a bit antagonistic but only for the greater good. How does he see Jin? As a (failed) successor, or something else? Proud but also angry/disappointed that Tamakoma persists with its idiotic mission despite what such friendliness has cost them? What does Fuujin mean to him and having it in Jin's hands?
- Tachikawa: I love enemies to lovers (including antagonistic rivals to lovers!), but also Tachikawa being a dumbass about everything but his relationship with Jin (maybe he learned through trial and error how to be a good bf)

Jin-unrelated relationships:
- Kako & Ninomiya: They were teammates, but now they're frenemies (?). Maybe they meet in the (currently started) big battle... Their opposing team-building strategies are interesting to see; how do they interact outside of Border? Uni, friends they might have in common?
- Ninomiya & Tachikawa: Similar deal; how are they outside of Border and with people they know in common? Tachikawa is A1, and I don't doubt Ninomiya Squad has the same aspirations. Also, Ninomiya thinks Tachikawa (and also Kako, and also many other people) is an idiot. A bit of a superior complex, typical arrogance? Or is he hiding something?
- Was Shinoda Mogami's peer or a bit younger and is their relationship slightly more like Kido-Shinoda's? Anyway, how did they deal in the Old Border with suddenly having kids to take care of? Or how did they even meet and come together in the first place? How does Shinoda now look at Mogami's legacy and his own role in Border?
- Sawamura & Azuma: pair of 25-year olds. Apparently both up for the assistant director position, but with Sawamura the one who got it because Azuma thought she'd be better suited to defend/protect the HQ? Anyway, I'd love to see them as friends (or even occasional lovers, either before Sawamura's crush on Shinoda started or maybe while she's suffering from afar) and how they feel being 2 to 10 years older than all the others. Do they go out drinking together? Drag Fuyushima with them? How are their lives outside Border? Azuma is still a grad student, but what about Sawamura? Are her parents pressuring her to marry, given that she's 25 and still single (apparently that's super old in Japan?)

Specifics:
- In a way, the Cat is the pinnacle of (one branch of) evolution -- I am sure Wesker would be absolutely fascinated by it and also completely repulsed by its behaviour. There would definitely be murder attempts miraculously survived by the (beautifully dressed) top predator also known as the Cat, and probably much frustration and eventual conspiracy-thinking on Wesker's part.
- Jadzia has a worm in her. O'Neill hates worms -- some (alright, many) for a very good reason, but not all of them are actually bad! The fact that Jadzia is a beautiful and super smart scientist probably doesn't help with whatever internal issues he has going on.
- For Yuuma and Alphonse, I was imagining something mid-series for FMA, when Al is still trapped in the armour. On one hand, Yuuma's situation is much better, because he is so much closer to a 'real' boy, but he's also very much aware of his impending death, so not ideal. Neither of them are able to sleep or tell the truth to people, including some of their friends.
- In my eyes, Zapp Brannigan is a (Less? He's not in charge of the whole galaxy. More? He keeps falling upwards! successful) version of Zaphod Beeblebrox, and I can't decide if they would kill each other on sight or offer autographs. Whichever universe they end up in would obviously suffer tremendously.

I'm always open to SFF AUs (even more sff than it already is, in this case)!

What I'm (most) looking relationship-wise for is Ed being really, really into Mustang (unrequited), who either:
1) doesn't realise it because he's not looking for such signs from his young, male subordinate. Various shenanigans as Ed very unsubtly tries to hit on Mustang (half the time not even realising himself what he's doing), before somebody else finally alerts Mustang to what's happening, and Mustang subsequently finds himself very concerned as to what sort of signals he's been inadvertently giving out (none, Ed is just 15 and horny), maybe even gets himself a temporary partner who's the opposite of Ed in practically every way (older, taller, dark haired, not an alchemist...) just to discourage the kid;
OR
2) has figured it out and is flattered but now trying to figure out how to let Ed down (gently) without destroying their working relationship; when Ed hears about this (through Al? Accidental comment by Havoc?) he absolutely doubles-down in his (poorly thought out--he's a genius about many things, but romance isn't one of them); a series of shenanigans follow with Ed trying to engineer alone-time with just the two of them and more romance-book-inspired meetings/'dates' (oh no, how are we ever going to escape from this deep hole that is forcing us to be so close to each other that we have to touch!! What do you mean I could alchemy our way out? Oh no, we have to huddle for warmth! No, don't use your flames to lit up a fire, that's not allowed, we have to cuddle!!). Mustang is despairing; is there a How To Let Your Underage Subordinate Down In A Way That Won't Make Him Try To Destroy A Building for Dummies?
In both cases I see Ed as confident in himself and the typical headstrong, even arrogant teenager with a very good heart--but who doesn't quit until he gets what he wants, and Mustang being very adept at manipulating him... Up to a point.
Now, unrequited would suit me just fine, but implying (or even with a flash-forward/epilogue) that maybe in the future when Ed grows up some more (mostly patience and maturity-wise), he could try again and this time Mustang might let himself be convinced would also be nice.

An alternate take I'd also be very happy with is something opposite, where Mustang is the one pursuing Ed after the Promised Day, but Ed has decided there's so many other things (people) he wants to do first, or is still coming to terms with other things, or is just unsure of himself and full of angst and guilt, leading into a hot-cold type relationship, with Mustang approaching Ed over and over--because it's clear that Ed doesn't actually want him to stay away--until he finally decides to give up. Suddenly Ed does know what he wants (Mustang) and it's up to him now to win the man over.
This could definitely lead to a happy ending for everybody involved, but a different take--where it's too late and they don't get back together--would also be amazing.

And then for Travis, what does he think about the new world he's helped to create? A lot of hatred towards Faro, his weird crush on Liz now transferred to Aloy (or not), opinions on Aloy's existence in the first place...
I'd love something humorous but still dealing with the many many challenges (and questions) such a meeting would bring.

I have crashed into 2026 with a love for medieval sonhusbands in the 1400s and I'm not stopping. Istvan Toth and Erik were perfectly made in a lab for me, and thinking about them together makes my stomach hurt. I am possible not normal.
Please play up the weird incest and love they have for each other! Istvan loves Erik, and he raised Erik's, and he murdered Erik's parents, and Erik turns around and is even MORE insane over him. I am very new to the Fargo TV show (thank you Sam Spruell) but oh my god am I OBSESSED with Season 5. I never would have expected the gender exploration or the discussion of cycles of violence, it really feels like this show was made for me in a lab.
I absolutely love Dot/Ole, I think they are so interesting together as narrative foils (both under the influence of other men, at lower status in society, forced to do things they don’t want) and I would love anything exploring this dynamic. As much as I love Faith and Fuffy, I really wish Kendra had lived longer and had a chance to come into her own. She and Buffy are such different people, and have experienced the world so differently, and I'd love to see that contrast as they get older. What's sorts of disagreements do they have, over methods of dealing with catastrophes, or fighting, or researching, etc.? Kendra, far more than Faith, has thought of herself as the Slayer, and I don't think she and Buffy would necessarily stop butting heads over that just because they're friends and more.
Possible prompts:
- Kendra survives Drusilla and goes home, but she and Buffy keep being drawn back together. Maybe there's another apocalypse that has them meeting again either in Sunnydale or somewhere else, and working together is more difficult than they expect. Then they start to fall in love because of or in spite of disagreements.
- Drusilla turns Kendra, and Buffy has to deal with it. Up to you whether Kendra keeps her soul or they ensoul her later on, or if Buffy ultimately has to stake her.
- S7, with Kendra coming back to town rather than Faith. Have they spoken recently? How do they treat the Potentials differently? (Does Kendra already know some of them?) However their methods differ, they try to take refuge in each other.
- When Willow resurrects Buffy, she inadvertently brings back Kendra as well.

Buffy/Maggie
I unabashedly love s4. Buffy feeling entirely out of her depth at college but getting her feet under as she goes along, a creepy military branch, and especially mad scientist-type Maggie Walsh. I was so disappointed when she was killed off; I wanted more! I love that Maggie notices Buffy—at least a little—before she knows about her being the Slayer, and then gets so incredibly vengeful/murderous later. If Buffy's type is people who have tried to kill her at least once, Maggie sure fits the bill.
Possible prompts:
- Buffy seems quite into psychology and also her professor. (She talks about her quite a lot, it's charming!) Standard teacher/student romance fic, but they both have secrets that come to light.
- Dubcon/noncon, all the dubcon/noncon, maybe with a side of (attempted or successful) kidnapping. Buffy, the Slayer, is fascinating to Maggie. How can she find out more?
- Adam doesn't kill Maggie. Canon divergence where she reluctantly teams up with the Scoobies to stop him. Buffy is angry and feels betrayed; with these two, that might just make for better sex. ;)

Pat/Joyce
Pat is the only friend we ever see Joyce have, and then she dies. It's a long summer after Buffy skips town, and Joyce has all that time to be angry and guilty and really, really lonely. I adore later-in-life sexuality realizations. I'd love to see that here. Maybe Pat already knows or they're discovering it together, up to you. Joyce needs a distraction, and what more effective than that?:D Does the romance make Joyce more sympathetic to Buffy's slayerdom (since canon already seems to equate Slayer with queerness to some extent), or just more awkward about it, or exactly the same as in canon? Harrow/Wake
I got here because I'm a sucker for ships like "ooh Wake hates Harrow so much, that's hot!!" That said, hate sex is by no means the only thing I want. There's plenty of potential around Wake's resemblances to—and differences from—Gideon, or her lack of scruples in using her own body for the cause, or Harrow's loneliness and self-hatred throughout HTN that Wake could attempt to take advantage of. I'd be happy with anything you might think of, but here are possible prompts:
- Wake in Cytherea's corpse getting handsy on the Mithraeum. Harrow is horrified, but perhaps also... not.
- Instead of summoning Matthias Nonius, Harrow and Wake have sex to decide who wins control over Harrow's body.
- Canon-compliant, Wake haunting Harrow in her dreams; Harrow always does hate Gideon's sword.
- Alternate universe in which Wake lives, and Harrow spends her childhood fascinated by an imprisoned Wake. Later, things escalate.

Judith/Marta
Between HTN and As Yet Unsent, these two broke my heart. The societal strictures and Judith's repression that keep them apart, and then Marta dies. I'd love anything set precanon that's all about pining and sublimated desire. I'd love something where Marta lives and Judith dies instead, and how Marta mourns her. I'd love anything that gives them more chances, such as one of them trying to fix things through time travel. I'd love something where Judith ascends to Lyctorhood and everything is worse. Really, I just want all the things for them; they deserve it.
For the purposes of this request, please assume that Marta returns Judith's feelings, though her feelings don't have to be equal.

Pyrrha/Gideon
I maintain that Gideon—redhead, landmine—is very much Pyrrha's type. And aahh, the way Pyrrha looks at her when she first sees her corpse in Nona is glorious. Whether Pyrrha will ever see Gideon as her own person and not just a part of either Wake or John is up to you; I don't mind either way. But I'd love to see them sharing space, arguing, inadvertently bonding through their shared sense of humor... anything! I read Song of the Lioness at the exact right age to imprint on this, of all things. It's the dreamsharing and that vision Alanna has during the Ordeal of Kings; it's how much he hates her and how much she hates him; it's all the responsibility she feels to expose him and then to kill him a second time. And he's obsessed with her, first when she's Alan—I got a lot of mileage out of that scene in In the Hand of the Goddess when he approaches her and says "We're not friends, are we, Alan?" And he's obsessed and even more furious after she's revealed to be a woman. Their confrontation in Lioness Rampant and their meeting on the wall are incredible to me, and honestly I just wish there'd been more scenes between them.
Opt-in for this request: past or background Thom/Roger. Handle Alanna's canon relationships however you like.
Possible prompts:

Or maybe Khonshu wants Marc to borrow the tablet for the purposes of fighting some evil that can't be dealt with the usual way but Steven keeps getting distracted by the chance to talk with an actual ancient Egyptian pharaoh. Or, if you want to get angsty, maybe the tablet needs to be destroyed because reasons, so Khonshu brings in Marc and Steven to talk to Ahkmenrah about their time in the Duat and Field of Reeds to help him finally move on after being held between life and death for thousands of years.

Evy Carnahan O'Connell/Rick O'Connell & Layla El-Faouly/Steven Grant/Marc Spector:
I'll admit that I nominated this one because I had that mental image of Marc showing up in his mummy armor and Rick immediately shooting him just on principle and it made me laugh enough to want 5k words about how or why they would end up in that situation and what the aftermath might be. I also remember seeing a comparison of The Mummy and Moon Knight which said Layla was like a gender swapped Rick and Steven was like a gender swapped Evy, and that has lived in my head rent free ever since. I just want to see all these people team up to nerd out over Egyptology and fight gods, the undead, or other monsters.

Layla El-Faouly/Steven Grant/Marc Spector & Martha McKay/Francis Munch:
I imagine Layla/Steven/Marc and Martha/Francis would vibe fairly well together once both sides got past their respective "Are these weirdos bad guys that we need to neutralize?" assessments. They could meet each other while both hitting the same target, or maybe one side needs to deliberately seek out the other for assistance with something, or maybe they run into each other while doing mundane life stuff and have a mutual "oh shit" moment because Marc and Francis knew each other back when they were mercenaries and/or because suddenly magical dinosaurs are attacking the area because that's how the world works these days.

Peter Grant & Steven Grant:
Two magical London nerdboys who are morally on the same side but technically on opposite sides of the law! Is it a recipe for friendship, misunderstandings, monster fights, characters lying their asses off to maintain their secrets, or all of the above? Also, I imagine Steven would be thrilled to try learning Newtonian magic while Marc and Jake facepalm over this new way to potentially mess up their brain more than it already is.

It would be fun to see Marlott signing on to be Victor's assistant to make sure he doesn't start killing anyone to get his materials like the last time someone was assembling people out of corpse parts and then falling into being a sympathetic and positive figure in the Creature's new life because clearly Victor isn't doing that job. From the other side of things, what would be Victor's reaction be to discovering exactly what Marlott is and realizing that someone beat Victor to his goal more than a decade ago?

I got into this fandom recently enough that I'm still in the "Give me anything!" phase. Post-canon adventures and/or shenanigans of any kind for any of the nominated ships! Backstory for Marc/Layla! Give me the funniest or weirdest possible way for Layla, Marc, and Steven to figure out what's going on with Jake, or just skip ahead to when he's already a known quantity trying to make things work with Marc and Steven. Pick a mythological being and have your ship of choice fight it or make friends with it. Or throw your ship of choice into the Moon Knight (TV) version of the House of Shadows. Or pick a point of divergence and show me what wild new direction the plot can veer away from how things happened in canon. Or give me an Outsider POV of some character not in the know getting all the wrong ideas about what's going on with your ship of choice.
I prefer for Layla to keep her avatar powers and Steven and Marc to eventually get theirs back or at least imply that Khonshu is still willing to give them back if they ask at some point in the future rather than them definitely being gone forever. When it comes to Catriona and Peregrin, I just do feel ultimately that they’re more compatible and would make a better couple than Catriona and Elias. It’s not just the introverted (probably autistic) MC/devil may care sunshine love interest, or even the pining (and I do love pining). I feel they’re more compelling – and an inheriting Scotswoman marrying a noninheriting Englishman? PLEASE.
Also, re: cunnilingus, I just ask that you remember that Catriona doesn’t like direct contact when she receives oral sex but does enjoy receiving with a barrier

I feel like most of the fandom forgets about the war crimes collage. I tend to lean toward a Regulus who is earnestly invested in what he believes to be a New World Order / Cause, but who feels like he fails to measure up with his family’s expectations (bonus points if you bring Sirius into it). I feel like he tries a lot, and maybe has some trouble succeeding.

Regulus/Evan: I like it best when Regulus is more straight-laced and repressed, focused on doing what his family wants so they're proud of him, and Evan is more reckless and open, with a devil-may-care attitude. I'd like to see Evan convincing Regulus to go against expectations and let himself be happy.
I read Evan as bi and Regulus was gay, and like to read Evan as coming from a loving and supportive family (fantasy racists can be nice to people they see as Like Them, after all) to mirror Regulus's family being... not that.

Regulus & Sirius: It's apparent to me from everything Sirius has said, and everything we know about both of them, that their mother, at the very least, was a narcissistic abuser. Do they even realise how bad things are? For themselves? For the other? Do they talk at Hogwarts at all, or do they ignore each other?
I get the vibe from what we see of their relationship that Sirius had perhaps been preferred as a child - until he was sorted into Gryffindor, at which point Regulus had all of those expectations firmly on his shoulders - I’d love to see something with that!

objectively the best Bridgerton couple, no argument.
I love how Hyacinth is self-assured and intelligent and stubborn and Gareth loves her for it! I really love Gareth! He’s def one of my favorite Bridgerton spouses, and I also just love his whole family backstory too! The fact that he’s not a bastard on a technicality, but also like his daddy issues (and mommy issues to a lesser extent lbr) and then marrying into SUCH a loving family as the Bridgertons - I love it! I would say Hyacinth is my favorite of the siblings; I love how she is smarter than just about everyone, and she knows it (and she’s not afraid to show it).
I love them so much - but the books are very of their time, and I’d definitely like to see things that the books didn’t show us - whether that Gareth eating Hy out for an hour or facesitting or – well, have fun with it.
I love the big, chaotic Bridgerton family and I am such a sucker for a character with shitty parents getting to be part of a big loving family with supportive in-laws.
I am a firm believer that in a modern AU, Gareth would take Hyacinth’s name.
