Signups are open here! Go forth and request fic!

As you do, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the rules and the FAQ. Please let us know if they need any clarification. You can comment here or shoot us an email if you have any questions.

There are more details at the FAQ, but here are the basics:

You’ll request between 4 and 10 fandoms, with between 1 and 20 characters or relationships and between 3 and 20 genre tags per fandom.

You’ll offer between 5 and 10 fandoms, with between 1 and 20 characters or relationships and 3 and 20 genre tags per fandom.

Characters and relationships will both be in the Characters field, and you’ll receive a story focused on any one of the items you select in that field.

If you'd like a story about Character A, select Character A in this field. If you'd like a story about either Character A or Character B, select Character A, then select Character B.

If you'd like a story about Character A and Character B in a romantic or sexual relationship, select Group: Character A/Character B. If you'd like a story about Character A and Character B in a gen relationship, select Group: Character A & Character B.

You'll be matched to a recipient who requested at least one of your offered fandoms and at least one of the offered characters or relationships in that fandom. However, you can choose to write a story in any one of your recipient’s requested fandoms, focused on any one of the items (character or relationship) they requested for that fandom, even if you didn’t offer it.

The genres in the Additional Tags are intended to give a general sense of what kind of story you’d like to read or write for a given fandom. We’re going to attempt to assign offers and requests that share a genre. If that results in too many initial pinch hits, AO3’s matching code will still prioritize matches by genre.

Here is the full tag set! This year, we have a whopping 2,594 characters and relationships in 568 different fandoms.

To help you navigate, keep in mind that Marvel live-action nominations are either under the MCU (films, Agent Carter, & Agents of Shield) or Marvel Netflix (Defenders-related fandoms), with groups combining the two in Crossover Fandom. DC fandoms are either under the DC Extended Universe (films) or Arrowverse (TV), with groups combining the two under Crossover Fandom. You'll find the Arrowverse under Uncategorized Fandoms.

For those interested in Original Works and Crossover Fandom tags, I've created a filterable spreadsheet for each that might help with finding tags you can offer or request.

Please let me know if there are errors in the spreadsheet! There was a lot of copy/paste, and some of the tags are ambiguous.

Thank you very much for the spreadsheet!

May I please suggest that 'Group: Princess 'Captured' By Dragon/Shapeshifting Dragon She's In Love With' is moved to Unspecified, as I nominated that and intended to leave the dragon's gender up in the air.

I'm not sure if it's too late to edit the tagset but I noticed a duplicate in the Umbrella Academy tagset: Klaus Hargreeves and Klaus Hargreeves (Umbrella Academy).

It's probably too late to change now, but IIRC, if you use "DC's Arrowverse" instead of "Arrowverse", it should be listed under TV rather than uncategorised.

Okay, I'm clearly useless, but I can't work out what I'm doing wrong, is there somewhere on AO3 that explains freeform tags, I've put my fandom, pairing and three tags in and am getting this:

Offer: Your Offer must include between 3 and 20 freeform tags, but you have included 0 freeform tags in your current Offer.
Offer: Your Offer must include between 1 and 20 character tags, but you have included 0 character tags in your current Offer.

thanks for any advice

Quick question: Can treats be shorter, or do they also have to meet the 5'000 words limit?

(This is merle_p, I didn't mean to post the comment anonymously but can't seem to remember my Dreamwidth password right now, sorry).

Perfect, thank you!

This is exciting! I hope it's not too much to ask, but seeing that there's a shared mod here, what are the chances of getting that handy app for sign-ups/requests that the chocolate box exchange had? It would make surfing requests a lot easier!

Hi! I signed up, but I seem to have signed up twice somehow, sorry! I can't actually see in AO3 where there's a duplicate anywhere, but I tried deleting the sign-up, and afterwards it still told me the sign-up was invalid because it was a duplicate. Do you know if there's anyway to delete it on the mod end?

Yes, everything looks right to me! I don't get the error message on my signup anymore, and I was on the list of participants twice for a while but now that's back to one like normal too. I guess it just took a while to process that I'd tried to delete one? Thank you, I'm sorry for the trouble!
