* Io: A sweet, mysterious girl with a giant halberd - yep, she's definitely my favorite character in this canon. There's a lot you can do with her; you could write something pre-canon, focusing on the years she spent searching for her missing Successor while evading the dangerous Lost. Or, what about her growing bond with the female protagonist (and I'm cool with Io developing romantic feelings for her) and relationships with the other companions? She seems to prefer to keep to herself, but she did ask Murasame for help in creating her weapon Dammerung. Then there's the true ending, as even though she seems to sacrifice herself for her Successor, the full ending implies she's still alive and able to travel with her companions beyond Vein, and you could show more of how she managed to create that miracle.

* Melia Antiqua/Dunban: Playing through the Definitive Edition is reawakening all my feels for these two and I do enjoy age gaps, so of course I want more! Both Melia and Dunban put on a brave face but still carry quite a bit of trauma and pain, and them bonding over their shared pain is something I enjoy about their relationship. While restoring their homes, how often do they see each other? Does Melia have nightmares about the loss of her home and family, or does Dunban still suffer lingering effects from his overuse of the Monado? Do they set out on a journey together to see how their world has changed? What dangers might they face on such a journey? If either Melia or Dunban is injured during those travels, that's some good hurt/comfort potential. When romance starts to blossom between them, what of the differences in lifespans between a Homs and High Entia?

Kate and Paul fill my favorite iddy niche of slightly-codependent twins with fundamental philosophical differences who are nonetheless fiercely protective of each other. I would love to see their relationship either as gen or as dirtybadwrong incest, and I especially would love to see Paul meet the Immortal and/or his niece and nephew, and become part of his sister's married life. Canon-divergence AUs would also be nifty: what if Kate and Paul had stayed together as a heroic duo, or both become villains together, instead of splitting up? Or what if they were somehow part of that dark alternate timeline where the Immortal, broken after outliving everyone he ever loved, was the power-mad tyrant of the world and everything was terrible? Honestly, there's not enough fic focusing on these characters and I would love to read some!

Liam/Maxwell/Drake: See above, and also I am stupidly into the idea of Liam/Drake secretly being an established couple who don't plan on letting Liam's eventual mandatory marriage to a noblewoman (...or nobleman) split them up. Maxwell is so optimistic and bright and kinda flaily! Drake is kind of an asshole on the outside, but he has that shiny heart of gold!
