Nominations are open for a little under a week more! They will close at 11:59 PM EDT on Thursday, 22 March. What time is that for me?
Tag Set Clarifications
There are over 300 fandoms already in the tag set. If tags are misspelled, associated to the wrong fandom, somehow ambiguous, or otherwise incorrect, please let us know!
We have a specific questions below the cut. If you're the nominator for these fandoms, please provide a link to your nomination form.
1) Crossover Fandom - Group: Loki (MCU)/Eliot Waugh (Magicians)
Is this Eliot from the books or the TV series?
2) The Hobbit - Tolkien - Group: Legolas & Thranduil
Does Legolas appear in the Hobbit? Should this be nominated in Lord of the Rings?
3) Critical Role
There are nominations including characters from both campaigns. Should these be split into two fandoms or grouped together?
4) Dangan Ronpa AMT
Should these be split into Hope's Peak Arc and New DR3 arc, or should they be grouped as a single fandom?
5) W.I.T.C.H.
This was nominated without characters or relationships. If you want to offer or request it, please add some, or it won't be available in the signup form!
6) Song of Ice and Fire
Currently there are tags under A Song of Ice and Fire & Related Fandoms and other tags under A Song of Ice and Fire - George R. R. Martin. Would the nominators prefer to combine these into a single fandom or keep the books and TV show separate? If they should be separate, can the nominator of the Related Fandoms tags clarify if they want the books or TV?
Genre Tags
Fandom 5K does not match on specific tropes, but we do use genre tags to do the following things:
With that in mind, we want to keep the genre tags at a high level and make them as simple as possible. Please let us know if they need any clarification!
So far, the only thing that has changed from last year is that we changed AU - SciFi/Fantasy Elements to SciFi/Fantasy. This can be used if you're interested in (for example) Harry Potter fic with an emphasis on magic, or Yuuri!!! on Ice aboard a spaceship, or an original work about the first lesbian president of an alchemist's society.
We've also been asked to add a Horror tag and are still considering that change. We agree not all Darkfic is Horror, but Horror fic could probably all be categorized as Darkfic. Can you suggest a way to rename these so Horror isn't a subset of Darkfic?
For reference, these are the current genre tags:
