I'm sorry it's taking longer than usual for approvals--I'm running solo this year as CBMod takes a well-earned break, and I've also been encountering frequent errors with the nominations page. These errors have meant some manual cleanup. Please check your nominations and let me know if you see any problems, particularly tags winding up in the wrong fandom, as I had to do some of those associations myself.

I have some questions for nominators! Please include a link to your nominations page in your response, so I can make sure I'm hearing directly from the nominators when needed.

We do not have any restrictions on what can be nominated in terms of fandom size, type, and so forth, and we also allow crossovers and original fandoms to be nominated. Please nominate crossover relationships into the Crossover Fandom Crossover Fandom Relationships tag, and original characters and relationships into the Original Work tag.

In terms of how to nominate characters versus relationships, please follow the format below:

• "Character: Character A (fandom)" - this means that you are nominating Character A on their own. AO3 may suggest a tag to you - please do not use it for nominations and instead nominate as above. 
• "Character A/Character B" - this means that you are nominating Character A/Character B in a ship, inside their own fandom.
• "Character A & Character B" - this means that you are nominating Character A and Character B in a gen configuration, inside their own fandom.
• "Character A (Fandom)/Character B (Fandom)" - this means that you are nominating Character A/Character B shipfic, and that it is a crossover. Please be specific about fandoms, especially if there are a lot of adaptations featuring Character A and/or Character B.

As many of you have may have noticed, AO3 has been experiencing a DDOS attack that has been taking the site down sporadically for the last nine hours or more.

While things seem more stable at the moment, we know access to the site has been difficult, and there hasn't yet been an official all-clear. We want to give it a little more time to let things settle.

We're delaying our opening 12 more hours, to Tuesday, 11 July at 11:59 AM US Eastern (countdown).

In the meantime, please remember to save a copy of your work somewhere other than AO3! This is especially important if you're making final tweaks to your stories, but it's always good practice in any situation.

Also, please make sure that if you edit the story, every version you save can go live as a complete gift, just in case you don't make it back to add any additional changes.
